Small Walnut Office Armchair, Louis XVI Style – Late 19th Century
An elegant small office armchair in carved walnut, in the Louis XVI style, featuring a beautiful neoclassical design: a slatted gondola-style backrest, open armrests, and molded legs.
The seat is entirely cane-woven, giving the piece a light and refined aesthetic. The slightly curved seat rim is embellished with decorative moldings. The armrests extend into carved consoles, while the legs are tapered and fluted.
The meticulously crafted carved decoration includes rosettes, fluting, and geometric motifs, emphasizing the understated elegance characteristic of the Louis XVI style.
A chair that is both decorative and functional, ideal as an occasional chair in an office, living room, or bedroom. The cane work and proportions of this armchair are firmly rooted in the tradition of Louis XVI seating, characterized by fluted legs, regular geometry, and symmetrical ornamentation.
