A very elegant display vasefrom the Napoleon III period, combining a beautiful body of crystalor clear glass with a rich gilded bronze mount.

The vase features a design of plant garlandsand finely crafted foliage. The lower section is adorned with aremarkable openwork mount featuring a latticework design and floral motifs.

A winged putto in gilded bronze, sculptedin the round, is depicted embracing the vase. The composition restson an elegant, richly ornamented pedestal, topped by a molded square base.

The piece is characteristic ofFrench decorative art from the Second Empire, in the Napoleon III style,blending Louis XV inspiration with abundant ornamentation.

Beautiful quality of carving and decoration,particularly decorative.

Good overall condition, with some marks and wear due toage and use. The gilding is well preserved.
