A charming antique French portrait miniature, finely painted on porcelain, depicting an elegant young woman with dark curled hair held by a violet ribbon and wearing a softly draped white shawl.

Dating from the early 19th century, the miniature is mounted within a gilt-brass oval surround and presented in an ebonised wooden frame.
