A beautiful Louis XIII armchair in walnut, dating from the 17th century, featuring a design particularly characteristic of chairs from this period.

It rests on an elegant sheep’s bone base, composed of highly sculpted legs joined by an H-shaped crossbar featuring curves and counter-curves. This design lends great character and elegance to the lower portion of the armchair.

The walnut armrests, also highly sculpted, end in rounded tips and rest on sinuous supports. The tall, rectangular backrest, slightly sloped, maintains beautiful proportions and gives the chair a commanding presence.

The seat and backrest are upholstered in antique fabric featuring a design of large foliage and floral motifs in shades of beige, ochre, and dusty pink. The upholstery is accented with a braid and a row of decorative tacks. The piece exhibits a patina and signs of wear consistent with its age.
