Set Of Three Nesting Tables In Gilded Bronze, Louis XVI Style, Circa 1950
Set of three nesting tables in gilded bronze and green marble – French-made in the Louis XVI style, 1950s–1970s
An elegant set of three nesting tables in gilded bronze, made in France in the neoclassical Louis XVI style during the 1950s–1970s.
Each table rests on four tapered, fluted legs joined by an X-shaped crossbar. The tops are made of green sea marble, accented by an openwork bronze molding decorated with ribbons. The corners are adorned with pine cones, a refined detail that highlights the quality of the craftsmanship.
The three tables nest perfectly, forming a set that is as practical as it is decorative. The finesse of the chiseling, the balance of the proportions, and the quality of the materials attest to fine craftsmanship, in the spirit of the great Parisian interior design houses of the second half of the 20th century. Very similar pieces are sometimes attributed to Maison Jansen or other leading French interior designers, but in the absence of documentation, it is best to remain cautious in this regard.
The set is in very good condition, with a beautiful patina on the gilded bronze and perfectly preserved marble tops.
An elegant set that will fit seamlessly into both classic and contemporary interiors.
Period: circa 1950–1970.
