Portrait Of A Noble Young Woman, Late 18th Century
An interesting oil painting on canvas depicting a portrait of a young noblewoman in a three-quarter view, with her left arm behind her back and holding a distinctive peacock feather necklace. Her attire is also quite unusual: she wears a short, double-breasted green blouse, framed by a striking white lace collar tied in a bow.
Central Italy – Mid/late 18th century
The canvas measures 35 cm x 51 cm; the simple wooden frame in which it is mounted has a depth of 6 cm.
The painting is in good condition, has never been restored, and still needs cleaning. (It shows traces of shellac on the surface.)
