Sliding Panel, Charlotte Perriand For The Hôtel La Cascade, Les Arcs 1600
Artist: Charlotte Perriand
Sliding closet door designed by Charlotte Perriand for the guest rooms at the Hôtel des Trois Arcs in Les Arcs 1600, circa 1969.Made of solid pine, it consists of a series of vertical slats that create a rhythmic pattern across the surface and highlight the wood’s grain. The handle, cut directly into the panel, reflects the pursuit of simplicity and functionality characteristic of the interiors designed by Charlotte Perriand for the resort.
Conceived as an integral part of the interior architecture, this door reflects Charlotte Perriand’s attention to every detail of the built-in furniture, where construction, function, and materials come together to form a unified whole.
Provenance: Hôtel des Trois Arcs, Les Arcs 1600.
