Raymond Trameau (1897–1985) was a French artist who worked as a painter, sculptor, enamel artist, and ceramicist. Trained at the École Pratique des Arts Appliqués et Décoratifs in Paris and later at the Ateliers d’Art, he initially exhibited figurative paintings at the Salon des Indépendants. His encounter in the late 1940s with Henry Valensi, founder of the musicalist movement, marked a turning point in his career, and from then on he turned to abstraction. Revitalizing the art of enamelwork, he created numerous cloisonné and champlevé pieces in this same geometric style. He presented his works in solo exhibitions both in France and abroad.
