Large Imari-style platter. Decorated in the center with four carp playing among the waves. The rim is adorned with various floral motifs set within petal-shaped cartouches. Japan, Arita, late 17th or early 18th century.

Condition: excellent; slight wear on the gilding.There is a small area where firing particles have become embedded on the upper fin of the carp on the right.
