Meissen - "salon Concert" Porcelain Set
A set of Meissen figurines titled “The Salon Concert” (Das Hauskonzert), based on a model by Joseph Kramer created in 1903. The painting is very detailed. It bears the blue crossed swords mark with a line that cuts the mark in half, along with the restorer’s number 125. The piece came out of the kiln with a firing defect in the base; the Meissen factory did not break it, but instead ground it down, creating this horizontal line. The group bears model number T186 and painter’s number 4; it is in very good condition, having been professionally restored—the restoration is invisible—on one of the violinist’s fingers.
