17th-century Spanish Christ
A beautiful carved and polychrome wooden figure of Christ. He is depicted during his crucifixion, with blood flowing from his wounds represented by red paint.
There are some minor losses in the carving: two fingers on the right hand and a toe on the left foot. There are also visible gaps in the polychrome paint. Detailed photographs show these imperfections. The figure of Christ is mounted on a wooden panel covered with velvet, secured from the back with a screw. The figure of Christ alone measures 46 x 33.7 cm and is 10 cm thick.
