"Cabbage By Mireille And Jacques Juteau, Enamel "
Small enamel plaque depicting a cabbage mounted on a wooden plaque wrapped in canvas by Mireille and Jacques Juteau. The work is signed, dated, and titled on the back of the wooden plaque. The enamel alone measures 17.8 x 24.8 cm. Mireille Juteau was born in Marseille in 1931. During her studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Métiers d'Arts (National School of Arts and Crafts) in stained glass and mural art, she met her future husband, Jacques Juteau (1927-1988). Specializing in stained glass techniques, though multidisciplinary, they took over the Lorin workshops in Chartres, which had worked on so many religious and civic buildings since 1863.
