Gérard Daran, born January 2, 1946, in Toulouse, is a French painter and draftsman. He studied at the Fine Arts schools of Toulouse, Strasbourg, and Paris, specializing in figurative art, particularly the academic nude. He has lived and worked in Paris since 1968. Gérard Daran's work revolves around drawing and painting. Settling in Paris in the 1960s, he discovered the works of Bellmer, Klimt, Schiele, and Delvaux, which would undoubtedly influence his artistic approach. An excellent graphic artist, he combines the strength of his line with the delicacy of his color palette. He exhibited for the first time in Paris in February 1969. Since then, his works have been presented in France and abroad.
