Beautiful wash drawing of a boat caught in the release of water from a lock in Deauville by Henriette Gudin. The drawing is signed lower left Gudin and annotated on the back of the frame Deauville Henriette Gudin, reporting information probably on the back of the drawing or transmitted orally. It is framed in a modern gilded frame and measures 13.7x19.7 cm without it. Henriette Gudin (1825-1892) is the daughter of Théodore Gudin, a renowned marine painter in the first part of the 19th century. Henriette was her father's pupil and specialized in the depiction of marine scenes.
