Swiss Church By Signature To Be Identified
Pencil drawing depicting a beadle in ceremonial dress, shown in profile and bowing to the right. Also known as a Swiss Guard, as this position was long reserved for retired members of the King's Swiss Guard. The drawing is signed in the lower right corner, preceded by the annotation "souvenir de" followed by a name I have been unable to decipher. It is framed in a 19th-century oak frame; without it, the drawing measures 23.3 x 15.1 cm.
