A Regional Louis XV Walnut Cabinet, Dating From The 18th Century.

A very beautiful and imposing regional cabinet made of solid walnut from the 18th century, in the Louis XV style.

It features an elegant two-door front with richly molded and scalloped panels, adorned at the top with delicate carved floral motifs.

The central panels are embellished with a lovely engraved checkered pattern. A beautiful, heavily molded cornice in the “gendarme’s hat” style rests on carved side posts that terminate in scroll feet.

The lower scalloped transom is centered with a carved motif. Particularly notable for its antique hardware, each of the two doors retains its own long-stemmed iron cremone bolt, accompanied by beautiful cut-out and openwork strike plates.

The original lock and key are present and functional.

Traditional 18th-century construction, with doweled joints and a substantial back panel made of wide panels of antique wood.

A cabinet of fine craftsmanship, with harmonious proportions despite its substantial size, likely originating from a regional workshop in northern France, specifically Picardy-Artois or the Valenciennes area.

In very good overall condition considering its age, with signs of use and historic restorations consistent with an 18th-century piece.
