Bakhtiar Persian Rug
This Bakhtiar rug features a refined design, hand-knotted by nomads of the Bakhtiari tribe.
It consists of a central field structured as a grid of uniform squares, each adorned with intricately woven motifs depicting animals, birds, floral bouquets, and stylized natural scenes.
The ornamental design draws inspiration from Persian gardens. These motifs evoke the richness of Persian flora and fauna, symbolizing harmony and abundance.
The dominant colors include shades of brick red, midnight blue, ivory, golden ochre, and green, subtly balanced to create a visual effect that is both warm and dynamic.
Each square is framed by fine borders that accentuate the overall symmetry. The richly decorated main border surrounds the rug with an intricate pattern of flowers, foliage, and stylized motifs set against an ivory background. Three secondary bands, featuring floral garlands, elegantly complete the framing.
"Color variations may be observed depending on the direction of the pile: the rug appears darker when viewed with the pile and lighter when viewed against it."
Size : To follow*
Condition : There is a small, makeshift repair along one edge (see photo), carried out to prevent the wool from unraveling further. This repair has resulted in a small loss of material in that area, as well as slight buckling along that side of the rug.
The fringes at both ends of the rug have been secured.
On one side, the outermost border—featuring blue and pink motifs—is missing. The fringes also differ from one side to the other: on one side, they are curled and shorter; on the other, they remain longer and look normal, though they have taken on a slight pinkish hue.
The rest of the rug is in good overall condition.
