Charming 18th-century Louis XVI Trumeau, "la Mère, Center Of The Home," Framed With A Beaded Gilded And Pewter Molding
Artist: Non Signé
A charming late 18th-century painting in the style of J.J. Rousseau, depicting my mother—the center of the family in the upbringing of the children, a theme dear to this waning century as people returned to fundamental values— the elegant lady, the focal point of all attention, surrounded by her children and a close-knit household staff. An idealistic vision just before the French Revolution, brought to life through its numerous figures and animals. A lovely paradise, this “Marie Antoinette” in a warm and rich setting; this elegant trumeau, with its delicate beaded molding and beautiful original tin finish, has everything to charm with its size and delightful subject—a painting full of tenderness and very well composed in its details, enhanced by the patina of age. This piece is in very good condition, unretouched, and well-preserved over time (circa 1785).
