Rare Pair Of Centaurs In Carrara Marble

A rare pair of centaurs carved from white Carrara marble.
Period: First half of the 20th century, 1920–1940 each
Provenance: Veneto.

Material: White Carrara marble carved in the round, entirely handcrafted.

Description:
A pair of mythological centaurs facing each other, creating a striking visual impact.
One is young, with a raised arm and a mace on his shoulder; the other is mature and bearded, with his hands bound behind his back. Both feature classical drapery, powerful and well-defined musculature, flowing tails, and finely carved hooves. Integral oval marble base.
Ideal for a villa entrance, park, Italian-style garden, or poolside.

Weight: Approximately 350 kg each.
Handling: A forklift or truck with a crane is required.

Condition: Good. Minor restoration work present. Outdoor patina with moss and lichen consistent with long-term exposure in the garden. No significant damage.
