Pair Of Large Vintage Louis-philippe-era Planter Covers

Pair of large porcelain planters, first half of the 19th century.

Flared in shape, with curled handles and molded saucers. With burgundy and turquoise backgrounds, decorated on one side with lavish bouquets of flowers, and on the other with plum branches and small birds; the borders and friezes feature dynamic interlacing and rocaille motifs in gold. 

One of the saucers, known as “teardrop” saucers, has been restored.
