Sculpture "nebulosa"

Artist: Stefano Toso
An extraordinary disc-shaped sculpture made of solid Murano glass from the “NEBULOSA” series, created by Stefano Toso for Toso Vetri d’Arte in the 1960s.
An iconic piece of Mid-Century Italian design. The transparent glass body encloses a central spiral vortex created with cobalt blue, light blue, and white aventurine glass rods. The optical effect is that of a moving nebula, hence the name.

Made using the sommerso and murrine techniques, with cold-polished exterior surfaces.
Important: The piece is numbered No. 27/262 and is accompanied by the original label bearing the title “NEBULOSA,” the signatures “Stef. Toso" and "Murano." It also features a hand-engraved signature on the base.
See detailed photos of the label and signature.

Stefano Toso was one of Murano’s most innovative masters in the 1960s. His “Nebulosa” sculptures are among the most sought-after by collectors of Italian design.
