Solid Silver And Bohemian Crystal Condiment Set.
Artist: Antoine Cosson (maison Cosson-corby)
This set features solid silver mountings of 1st title (1260g), stamped with the “Minerve” hallmark, crafted by silversmith Antoine Cosson of the “Cosson-Corby” firm (1851–1879), located at 41 Quai de l’Horloge in Paris.
The glassware is made of Bohemian crystal, predominantly blue. It includes:
- A double oil cruet holder and two decanters with their silver stoppers (one handle has been restored)
It consists of an oval tray with a shell motif, to which are attached the two oil cruet holders decorated with ironwork and the two stopper holders featuring rocaille and floral motifs. A superb carrying handle, attached in the center, features a motif of a serpent coiled around a vine. It rests on four arched feet.
- Two double salt cellars with their crystal salt cellars set in the same manner as the carafes and featuring handles of the same style (snakes). Each rests on eight legs.
A beautiful piece by Antoine Cosson and the crystal workshop, in perfect original condition.
