Indo-persian XIX Wall Lamp
Wall lamp in the form of an openwork Indo-Persian shuttle XIX. The curved gondola silhouette with the lower triangular tip is very typical of shuttles, hanging oil lamps, or chisel baskets of Persian and Indo-Islamic origin.Geometric cuts (Moucharabieh style), fine Arabesque engravings and decorations in the form of swan/bird heads on the lateral hooks. The complex engraved motifs (polylobal medallions, geometric interlacing and stylized calligraphy) directly recall the work of hand chiseling on copper/brass practiced in Persia (current Iran) and in North India.
