A rare liturgical key made of gilded wrought iron, Flamboyant Gothic style. Ring, cut with a saw, forms an openwork cross, three of whose arms are topped with fleurs-de-lis.
It rests on aspherical knob and extends into a ring adorned with iron beads.
Shaft is drilled, and the bit is straight with straight slots.
The piece retains its hot-applied gold leaf, worn by time but still luminous, giving the object a precious and ceremonial character.
An interesting piece as a reference key or a 19th-century Neo-Gothic collectible, rare in this level of decorative quality.
Condition: wear on gilding, one missing bead, visible scratch on top of shank.
