Beautiful Flaming Khadga Iron & Bronze, Ritual Sword Of Manjushri Buddha, Tibet, Late 19th C
The Khadga is the flaming sword of wisdom of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom in Buddhism. Here, the blade is made of iron and richly adorned with bronze parts. The hilt features an openwork Vajra design, a grimacing mask at the base of the blade, and the end adorned with a flamboyant motif. Fine quality, with a patina from wear and use—an authentic piece!
Very good overall condition. Please note a few traces of oxidation, clearly visible in my detailed photos; please examine them carefully—I’m not hiding anything!
Tibetan craftsmanship, dating from the late 19th century or very early 20th century.
Dimensions: 37 cm x 6 cm at its widest point.
