Winged Spearhead From The High Middle Ages, 7th–10th Centuries

Winged spearhead from the Early Middle Ages, 7th–10th centuries.
Created by the Carolingian Franks and adopted by the Vikings, it was used in warfare and hunting. Its wings prevent the spear from penetrating too deeply into the body and allow the user to parry or hook the opponent’s weapons and shields.
