Art Deco Double Inkstand In Portor Marble – Circa 1930
An elegant and rare Art Deco-era double inkwell, crafted around 1930 from spectacular Portor marble.
Its architectural composition, consisting of geometric and cubic forms, is perfectly representative of the Art Deco aesthetic. It features two cubic inkwells with hinged lids, as well as a large pen holder at the front.
The two gilded bronze containers are original and retain their small glass liners. One of them has significant damage, visible in the photographs.
Portor marble is distinguished by its deep black background crisscrossed with broad golden veins, creating a particularly rich and decorative contrast. This luxurious material, now rare, enhances the precious character of this desk accessory.
The set rests on four small bronze feet. The marble is in very good overall condition, with no noticeable chips or cracks.
A beautiful Art Deco desk accessory that is functional, decorative, and particularly elegant.
