An elegant Orientalist bust depicting a young woman wearing an ornate turban and adorned with relief jewelry.

This polychrome terracotta sculpture displays fine craftsmanship, particularly evident in the modeling of the face, the rendering of the hair, and the numerous details of the costume. The polychrome finish harmoniously combines shades of blue, red, beige, and gold.

The bust rests on a circular, fluted pedestal. Beneath the base is an incised mark depicting a “G”, as well as the model number 370, linking it to the works of the Goldscheider manufactory in Vienna.

Austrian work from the late 19th or early 20th century, circa 1900.

In good overall condition, with some minor wear and age-related touch-ups to the polychrome painting. A crack is visible beneath the base, around the firing hole,and should be noted in the listing. See the numerous detailed photographs.
