Old handle from a hand drum called a "Kundu." Kundus provide the rhythm for traditional dances and are often decorated with carvings depicting totemic plants and animals. Here, praying mantis heads are carved through the handle. This fragment was positioned vertically on one side of the drum and served as a handle.
