A very beautiful Lyon-style wedding chest made of solid walnut from the 18th century, featuring two richly molded and carved doors.
The upper section is particularly remarkable for its extensive carved decoration of foliage, flowers, and scrollwork surrounding a central floral bouquet—a characteristic feature of regional wedding chests. The lower, scalloped crossbar is also adorned with an elegant carved floral motif featuring a central shell.
The doors feature beautiful molded panels, embellished with carvings and antique hardware. The interior retains its shelving as well as its two drawers.
The piece is crafted from solid walnut, with a beautiful antique patina and remarkable wood grain. The construction and antique elements are particularly noteworthy.
