Artist: Thomas Hache (1664-1747)
Mirror with an inverted doucine frame made of native wood veneers, decorated with geometric motifs in reserve, and a double frieze of foliage and oak leaves in marquetry, burnished with warm sand.
Frame of fir, walnut veneer, elm burl, and sycamore. Beveled frame of blackened pear wood and beveled molding composed of sycamore and lake oak.
Louis XIV period, late 17th century.
Work attributed to Thomas Hache (1664–1747).
Very good overall condition; mercury mirror (replaced).
