Artist: Louis Xvi / Directoire/ Consulat / Empire.
Short five-sided thunder cannon, 70.2 cm long, with breech stock measuring 75.3 cm. Walnut stock with a short barrel that leaves the barrel exposed. Brass muzzle cap featuring a spout that holds the iron grenade holder with a triangle mount. Trigger guard, counter-plate, and butt plate are made of brass. Flintlock pan signed “Maubeuge Manufacture Royale.”
Barrel with bayonet tenon; ramrod with a truncated conical tip.
Total length of the firearm: 106.5 cm.
Wood in poor condition.
The lock functions properly with two notches; the screw and flint retainer on the hammer are missing.
Sold as is, from a beautiful estate in southwestern France.
