Pastel portrait of a young girl, with a bowed, almost intimidated face, created with great technique by the Abruzzese painter Francesco Paolo Michetti. The painting, which denotes study and good knowledge of the best French painting school, takes us back to the influences of the French Masters of the late 19th century, and in fact the revealed but still legible signature of F.P. Michetti confirms the formal debt that the Master acquired in Paris between 1870 and 1890. It was the period when Michetti worked in France for the dealer Goupil together with several of the most famous Impressionists. Michetti, a great Abruzzese Master who to date has not received the real recognition that, in my opinion, he deserved.
