Extremely Rare Instrument Of Torture, 'the Pear Of Anguish' Of The XV-xvi Century
An extremely rare torture instrument called 'The Pear of Anguish'. On the web, an obscure 'expert' of torture objects claims that all objects intended to inflict torture and sometimes even death are 'according to him' fake. I respect scholars in general as people who dedicate their lives to studying and reading writings, but if they have NEVER consulted an 'Expert on ancient objects', with their unsophisticated considerations, they mistakenly believe that original torture objects do not exist, erasing the entire historiography of centuries of brutality and cruelty, from the origins of man to the present day. It is true that there are fake objects placed on the market for gullible or superficial buyers, but there are also many REAL objects manufactured with the intent of inflicting pain and despair. Our wrought iron mechanism, with its original chain and the figure of a bull, must have puzzled its maker, who must have had years and years of great mastery in the working of forged iron... it is an object that demonstrates, to those who know how to read it, an antiquity of over five centuries. Everyone should dissent on what they are capable of truly understanding and not speak haphazardly out of prejudice... Here, then, is a beautiful Renaissance object (15th-16th century), museum-worthy, from a great collection.
