An exceptional IWC Schaffhausen Portugieser Automatic 7 Days watch, reference IW5001, one of the most iconic models from the contemporary Swiss watchmaker.

Its case is crafted from 18-karat white gold, hallmarked 750, and shows slight surface marks consistent with careful use. The contours and lugs remain well-defined. The transparent sapphire crystal case back allows you to admire the IWC in-house automatic movement from the 5000 series.

The anthracite-black dial, with a sunburst satin finish, features large applied Arabic numerals and hour markers, polished leaf-shaped hands, and a railway-track minute track. It features a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock, a seven-day power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock, and a date window at 6 o’clock.

The in-house automatic movement features the Pellaton winding system, a seven-day power reserve, and 44 jewels. It is adjusted in five positions. The IWC-signed rotor bears the gold medallion “Probus Scafusia”, emblematic of the Schaffhausen manufacture. Visible inscriptions include “Forty-Four (44) Jewels,” “Adjusted to Five (5) Positions,” and “Seven (7) Days.”

The watch retains its brown leather strap signed IWC, with an alligator-style finish, as well as its original 18-karat white gold folding clasp, signed and hallmarked 750. The strap shows normal signs of wear consistent with the watch’s age.

It comes with its original IWC wooden case, warranty card, user manual, service records, and the inner plate bearing the inscription “Portugieser Automatic Reference 5001”.
