Charles Mangin
"Still Life with Anemones and Mandarins" by Charles Mangin (1892–1977) features an elegant bouquet of red, white, and purple anemones accompanied by mandarins arranged on a dark table with shimmering highlights. Through the contrast between the vibrant colors of the fruit and flowers and the more subdued background, the painter creates a harmonious and lively composition, characteristic of his work. Trained at the Antwerp Academy under Piet Van der Ouderaa, Mangin was best known for his still lifes and floral compositions. Oil on canvas, 47 x 55 cm
