Large rosewood marquetry chest of drawers, Louis XIV period, 17th century.
Large top richly inlaid with fillets forming geometric patterns.
Curved front opening to reveal four drawers in three rows, separated by brass fluting.
Rosewood drawers inlaid with four-leaf motifs within cross-grain frames. Rounded side panels inlaid with three brass flutes ending in gilded bronze feet.
Rich ornamentation with original bronze fittings in very good condition (formerly re-gilded).
This chest of drawers is in good condition with its original varnish and a beautiful rosewood patina (slight crack on one side of the top).
Locks that function with their keys (previously replaced).
Drawers mounted in walnut.
