Japanese Porcelain Incense Burner
A rare four-legged incense burner made of polychrome porcelain, likely Kutani, featuring Nanban decoration. On one side, a Portuguese or Dutch ship, and on the other, four figures dressed in Western-style clothing, of Dutch or Portuguese origin.
The handle is shaped like a shishi. On the underside is a “kotobuki” 壽 (happiness) mark in red on the glaze.
