An Important Louis XIII-era Rack-and-pinion Armchair.
Comfortable 17th-century armchair with a turned wooden base connected by an H-shaped brace. The backrest reclines via two wrought-iron racks attached to two wide arms decorated with scrollwork and preceded by small bone-shaped finials (typical of the Renaissance style). The woodwork is entirely period. Note: two repairs at the base of the rear legs. 19th-century period tapestry in perfect condition. The seat has been completely restored, with the tapestry reupholstered. France, first half of the 17th century.
