Pair Of Large Louis XIII - Louis XIV Style Armchairs In Walnut, Verdure Fabric, 19th Century
A very fine pair of Louis XIII-Louis XIV style walnut armchairs from the late 19th century. Each armchair rests on four turned baluster legs connected by an H-shaped stretcher, as well as a high baluster-shaped stretcher at the front. The backs are wide and high, slightly inclined outwards for greater comfort. The armrests are scrolled, their ends decorated with acanthus leaves, and rest on baluster supports. The upholstery and fabric have been recently redone, resulting in very comfortable seating. The fabric used is a magnificent, high-quality verdure. The upholsterer's work is remarkable and exquisitely finished; indeed, he completely covered the uprights of the backs, thus highlighting the complexity of the task. A beautiful pyramidal nail finish was chosen to complete the ensemble. A chair of virtually the same style and period, upholstered in the same fabric, is also included. Our two armchairs, with the same finish, are for sale in our gallery. Dimensions: back height 120 cm, seat height 50 cm, width 66 cm, seat depth 55 cm, total depth 68 cm.
