An elegant sculpture, finely carved from Volterra alabaster. The sculpture depicts a crouching boy on a circular base, with his right hand outstretched as if to spin a top. The top itself is made of painted alabaster. The sculpture draws inspiration from similar works attributed to 19th-century Florentine workshops, specifically those of Pietro Bazzanti and Cesare Lapini. The boy is dressed in shabby clothing-trousers and a jacket-and wears a cap covering his hair. This sculpture is notable for the realistic rendering of its details and adds a touch of elegance and antiquity to any setting. Please note that there are slight imperfections on both hands. Florentine craftsmanship from the second half of the 19th century.
