Each panel features a geometric design punctuated by cabochons ofred, blue, and amber-colored glass. The central section is adorned with a figurative medallionmade of painted glass depicting a lansquenet (a historical German mercenary soldierfrom the 15th century) rendered in grisaille on a pale green background, on whichmottos in Old High German are inscribed in Gothic script
