Primo Dolzan – Paris 1932 – The Old Trocadéro -
Oil on wood, signed and dated "P. Dolzan 1932" in the lower right corner.
Inscription on the back: "This one is for you, please. It didn’t turn out very well, but since the Trocadéro has been demolished, this will serve as a memento."
Measuring 24 cm x 20.5 cm unframed, 33 cm x 30 cm overall.
Depicting the banks of the Seine in Paris against a backdrop of the old Trocadéro, painted in 1932.
Primo Dolzan, an Italian painter, was born in Tezze Sul Brenta (Veneto), Italy, in the early 20th century. He worked in Paris and lived in the Montmartre neighborhood in the 1930s. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1933 and 1935. He is listed in the Dictionnaire des Peintres de Montmartre. The artist is listed in the Bénézit.
