Late 18th Century Marble Sculpture "little Boy With Duck"
Refined and unique sculpture depicting a little boy playing with a duck, crafted from fine white Carrara marble and delicately carved. The child, seated and smiling, is depicted playing with the duck's wings, which is depicted in motion, attempting to escape from the toy. The sculpture was originally conceived as a fountain, with water entering the sculpture and flowing out of the duck's beak, which is still clearly visible. To best showcase it, we recommend placing it on an existing structure or on the pedestal pictured, also carved from white Carrara marble and available for sale. It also stands out for its masterful rendering of physiognomic and realistic details, which convey great artistry. This is a work of great taste and refinement, capable of adding a touch of class and antiquity to any space. Italian manufacture, neoclassical period, late 18th century.
