Monastery Writing Desk, Louis XVI Style, 18th Century.
Louis XVI-style writing desk, made of solid walnut. Very rustic yet very sturdy, this piece was built to last, as it originated from a monastery or sacristy, as evidenced by the inlaid cross on the tabletop. The tabletop is secured to the frame with solid dowels. The fluted legs are in the Louis XVI style; one is slightly tilted but sturdy.
The presence of woodworm holes attests to its age, but all our furniture has been treated against wood-boring insects. Date: late 18th century. Delivery within France is possible but expensive.
