"Rosewood And Marquetry Desk Table, Napoleon III Period – 2nd Part Of The 19th Century"
Magnificent Louis XV style ceremonial desk in precious wood marquetry with floral decoration, made in a Parisian cabinetmaking workshop in the 19th century. Its animated top reveals exceptional marquetry work in rosewood, palisander and native wood, restoring a magnificent central floral decoration enlivened on its perimeter by a frame formed of foliage on a rosewood background. This central desk is surrounded by a gadrooned ingot mold in gilded bronze with chiseled sculptures at the corners. The curved apron of this desk is arranged with a large drawer hidden on the front, decorated with foliage and flowers. This piece of furniture rests on curved legs enriched at the top with an ornate gilded bronze corner drop representing a woman's bust. At the bottom, a bronze ornamentation takes the form of a lion's claw hoof. Fully restored, this is a unique piece that attracts the eye with its presence. ******** Period: 2nd part of the 19th century Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop.
