An autographed postcard sent by André Breton to his friend Gérard Legrand (a Surrealist poet, philosopher, and film critic) on July 31, 1950, featuring a map of the Lot department on which St-Cirq-Lapopie is circled in red.
1950 was the year Breton discovered St-Cirq-Lapopie (hence his stay at the Auberge des Touristes). The following year, he purchased his house, the former Auberge des Mariniers. He would spend every summer there until his death in 1966

The projects you’ve been telling me about couldn’t be more appealing.
Charles VI—I believe I’ve thought about it, and more than once.
Perhaps you could ask Mr. Matarasso on my behalf to let you consult the important unpublished work by Nerval in his possession that revolves around this enigmatic reign.
I also fully approve of your anthology project.
It’s true that Pierre Mabille might perhaps have some of these stories (you know he’s practically your neighbor: 34 Rue Raynouard). If you see him, tell him how much I regret his passing. The poem to Giordano Falzoni is very beautiful.
