Venice, fishing boats in St. Mark’s Basin: this beautiful view of Venice is the work of the famous Austrian landscape and architectural painter Carl (Karl) Kaufmann (1843–1905). He studied at the Vienna Academy and worked in Vienna in the early 20th century. His landscapes of Venice, Rome, and the Orient earned him international renown.
