Each type of flower, thanks to the painter’s careful and meticulous depiction, is perfectly recognizable: a red poppy, rendered in detail both in its delicate, ephemeral petals and its black stamens, immediately catches our eye, as do the jagged petals of the two roses, whose leaves and stems—covered with thin, pointed thorns—are clearly distinguishable.
