Alphonse Jovine was born on April 3, 1930, in Marseille and died on July 24, 1989, in Marseille.
He attended the Beaux-Arts from 1948 to 1950

His free time was devoted to painting and reading comic books. He was a fan of American comic books

In the 1960s, he frequented the bar “Le Peano” on Cours d’Estienne d’Orves in Marseille, where he met a number of painters and artists with whom he formed close ties: Ambrogiani, Quilici, Cousinou, Toursky… During that time, he received the City of Marseille’s first prize for painting. He held several exhibitions in Marseille at galleries such as “L’atelier” and “Le Lacydon” during the 1970s and 1980s.
